The Best Slow Cookers on Amazon, According to Hyperenthusiastic Reviewers

Here at the Strategist UK, we like to think of ourselves as crazy (in the good way) about the stuff we buy, but as much as we’d like to, we can’t try everything. Which is why we have People’s Choice, in which we find the best-reviewed products and single out the most convincing ones. (You can learn more about our rating system and how we pick each item here.)

And while we’ve written about many kitchen essentials before — including the best cast-iron cookware, the best blenders, and the best coffee machines — here, we’ve rounded up the best slow cookers as praised by the most enthusiastic reviewers on Amazon.

Best-rated slow cooker

With over 2,500 ratings on Amazon, Morphy Richards’ Sear and Stew slow cooker is the best rated. In total, 82% of reviewers gave it five stars, and it’s received praise from rookie cooks to home chefs alike. It might be considered especially good for beginners, though 343 reviewers mentioned that the four cooking settings made the slow cooker easy to use. Reviewers also spoke highly of the removable ceramic pot, which can be used to sear meat on the stovetop (and is dishwasher safe). Though there are cheaper options on the market, 49 people total wrote that the slow cooker was excellent value for money owing to its longevity and quality.

Best-rated (less expensive) slow cooker

Crock-Pot Slow Cooker

Crock-Pot’s simple slow cooker is a steal at just £20 – and it has 81 percent five-star reviews, too. The 3.7-litre cooker was described as easy to use by 128 reviewers, and easy to clean by a further 70. It has three heat settings – low, high, and a keep-warm option, the latter being mentioned in 16 reviews. One customer said it made going back for seconds even more enjoyable, while another used it to keep a roast duck at just the right temperature.

Best-rated small slow cooker

Breville VTP169 Compact Slow Cooker

If you’re looking for a smaller slow cooker, Breville’s 1.5-litre option is neater but still a great option for soups and curries. Thirty-one reviewers said the size was the best thing about it, from one who bought it for an elderly neighbour to make his soups in, to another who found it the perfect fit for her small kitchen. And even though it’s half the size of the others, 12 people wrote that they could still make a meal for two from it, so don’t let its compact size deceive you. [Editor’s note: this product is low in stock].

Best-rated programmable slow cooker

Not only is this slow cooker a whopping 5 litres, but the programmable digital timer allows you to customise the cooking time for optimum results. The LED display lets you see how long is left until the cooking is done, and 22 reviewers say they love the cooker’s ‘keep warm’ setting, whereby a meal will stay warm on a low temperature after the timer is done. Happy customers say it can feed five to six people easily. The removable ceramic inner dish is usable on a hob for browning or searing meat, and the nonstick surface is easy to clean, too. One reviewer, who bought it after their slow cooker of 20 years finally packed it in, says the specific timer settings help make a superb fig sponge pudding for a crowd.

Best-rated manual slow cooker

Morphy Richards Slow Cooker Sear and Stew

There’s a reason Morphy Richards has come up a few times — reviews consistently call it one of the strongest brands on the market. This is one of their best-rated manual cookers, offering a low, medium, or high setting. 460 reviewers called it easy to use, while a further 395 remarked on how easy it was to clean. It might not have any bells and whistles, but this is without a doubt a solid all-rounder.

Best-rated multi-pot slow cooker

Tower Three Pot Slow Cooker

The three separate pots mean this slow cooker, which has 77 percent five-star reviews, has become popular among people entertaining for a crowd. Five reviewers praised it for slow-cooking curries, particularly since you can switch to the cooker’s ‘keep warm’ setting and let people serve themselves. One man, who lives on a smallholding in Wales, said he and his wife found their usual slow cooker too large, and this three-in-one option helped them reduce waste and broaden their meals (he added that they could stew meat, boil rice, and make a fruit crumble all at once). Another customer said they could make both meat and meat-free options of the same curry for their family, without having to create too much extra work.

Best slow cooker with air fryer

Ninja Foodi Electric Multi-Cooker

As well as having an air-fry function, this multi-cooker by Ninja can be used as a pressure cooker, slow cooker, and steamer, and has 88 percent five-star reviews. It comes highly recommended by 55 reviewers, including one customer who liked it so much they threw away their old slow cooker and air fryer to save room in their cupboards. One reviewer, a self-confessed novice in the kitchen, bought it after being sent to work abroad for six months, and said they could now make restaurant-quality food at home without relying on delivery every night. Another said the frozen chips they cooked in the air fryer were the best they’d ever tasted. Though it saves on space and is something of a Swiss army knife when it comes to kitchen tools, there are some drawbacks; in one review, a customer writes that the air fryer’s nondetachable splatter guard gets in the way when using the product as a pressure cooker. It’s also heavy, with several customers saying they leave it out on the counter as it can be cumbersome to lift in and out of cupboards (one customer even said their Amazon driver seemed to struggle carrying it to the door). But if you’re looking to upgrade from an inexpensive fryer to something more substantial, 12 reviewers called it a game-changer.
